From the start of the business, The Music Workshop Ltd has been about music education. Both Sara and David are experienced instrumental teachers and Sara has a broad background in music teaching in schools. Trained at Moray House College of Education in Edinburgh, Sara specialised in both secondary and primary school music. She has taught in high schools in both Scotland and New Zealand and was a head of department for nine years. Since returning to Dunedin Sara has also developed her music teaching skills in children's lessons at Saturday Morning Music Classes.

Instrumental Tuition

At the Music Workshop you can learn to play an instrument if you want - we offer tuition in voice, piano, violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and drum kit. Theory lessons are availble as well. We also keep lists of teachers of other instruments.

If you are interested in learning cello, double bass, guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, ukulele, oboe or bassoon, come and talk to us - we might be able to find the right teacher for you.
